Gua Sha: a skincare ritual for the face and for yourself
Posted by Magasin Shop on
An ancestral tool of traditional Chinese medicine, the Gua Sha has found its place in our facial care rituals.
At Makesenz, we offer you a rose quartz Gua Sha from Nasoha, a Belgian brand which works with respect and transparency by selecting each stone with care and respect for nature. Gua Sha Rose Quartz - Lift & Firmness | MAKESENZ. Rose quartz, a symbol of love and peace, is a true ally of well-being, both for the skin and the mind.
Releasing tension
Gua Sha means "scratching" (gua) the "disease" (sha). Originally, this technique was designed to relieve various physical ailments such as muscular pain, fatigue and stress by means of energetic rubbing.
Adapted to the face, this gesture becomes gentler, but just as powerful. Practised regularly, Gua Sha helps to relax the muscles of the face, particularly in the jaw, forehead and nape of the neck.
By allowing yourself a few minutes of slow, conscious movements, you give your body and mind a chance to breathe. This seemingly simple ritual becomes a gentle, calming interlude in our all-too-often hectic days.
Reawaken your skin's radiance and restore tone and vitality
Thanks to the pressure exerted during the massage, Gua Sha activates blood and lymph circulation, encouraging the elimination of toxins, reducing dark circles and puffiness, and naturally restoring radiance to the complexion.
This gentle drainage also stimulates the natural production of collagen, helping to firm the skin, smooth wrinkles and refine features. A gentle, effective method to help tone the face and support the skin's natural balance.
A gesture to incorporate into your routine
It may seem intuitive to use, but there are some specific gestures you need to follow to reap the full benefits. The massage should always be performed on clean, oiled skin to allow the gua sha to glide over. Our plant oils (jojoba, argan, nigella, etc.) or our Bonne Mine serum (Glowing skin serum – Glow booster | MAKESENZ) are the ideal partners for this massage.
If you'd like to learn how to do this properly, join our ‘Introduction to Gua Sha & Personalised Facial Serum’ workshop (Introduction to the use of Gua Sha & Facial Serum - Ixelles | MAKESENZ), led by Mélodie (@thegreenharmonia), a facial yoga expert. Step by step, you'll discover the essential movements of Gua Sha and how to incorporate them into your routine for a real moment of well-being.
Taking care of your skin, by taking care of yourself
At Makesenz, we believe in a more conscious, gentler approach to skincare, a beauty that takes its time. Gua Sha isn't just a beauty tool: it's a way of doing something good for yourself, a way of remembering that skincare always starts with taking care of yourself.
