Summer beauty must-haves
Posted by sophie trenteseaux onThis year, I'm packing essential natural products to take care of my skin and that of my teenagers! I'm optimizing the kit to suit everyone at the same time :)
As I like to travel light and put my skin on a rather minimalist diet, I pack a lot of multi-use products...
For the shower, I use a solid soap (for the whole family) with a more intense fragrance than I'm used to, but still surgras and artisanal! I love the scent of "Jardin Littoral" soap, but we have lots of other very nice ones too. I also take my exfoliating powder to scrub my skin and keep it luminous all summer long. I mix the powder on my damp, soaped skin.
For the hair, I'll take a solid shampoo (again for the whole family) to keep things light and portable.
To carry my soap block and solid shampoo, I use a piece of recycled cotton fabric (like a tissue) to absorb moisture and protect them at the same time.
For body and face care, I take a bottle of jojoba oil to moisturize my body before going to bed, and I also use it on my hair if I'm swimming in the sea or river, to protect it from the sun and salt.
During the day, of course, I use a sun cream to protect all exposed areas of my body, but I try at all costs to avoid the hot hours (between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.), otherwise I cover my shoulders and wear a nice hat :)
During the day, if I'm too hot, I use my lavender hydrosol mist on my face and under my armpits too :)
I never forget to take my aloe vera gel to moisturize the skin on my face at the end of the day, but also for irritations, as an after-sun lotion or as a detangler for my teenage daughter's hair :)
As another multi-purpose product, I take a small amount of clay powder (in a salvaged pot) which I use as toothpaste (in combination with lemon or peppermint essential oil) and as a face cleanser in the evening to remove sunscreen. You can also use the tube of clay paste if you prefer.
I use less deodorant because I bathe more often during the day (in the river or in the sea) but if I'm going hiking, I apply a thin layer of deodorant balm in the morning (and I force my 2 teenagers to too :) ).
As for make-up, I'm an archi-minimalist, but I take along my black mascara (for the evening), a pencil that I use for my eyes and eyebrows at the same time, and my fairy balm for a glossy finish on my lips.
Last but not least, I'm taking along a few essential oils like lavender aspic (for stings and burns), peppermint (for digestion, travel sickness or sprains) and lemon (for my tooth clay paste).

Have a great summer!
